Industries have resumed their operations in a calibrated way, specifically in green zones with around 33% staff and in some cases with more capacity simultaneously safeguarding the health and safety of its staff against Corona virus.
Demand drives industries and industries are looking at import substitution, exports as it is no more an option and new user segments apart from auto for opportunities. Industries can plan digitalisation, automation and optimisation of processes in the manufacturing eco-system as a medium to long term measure. Currently manpower is abundantly available which can be utilised judiciously for new product / process development and for providing engineering services.
Businesses need to expand their horizons through partnerships and joint ventures, and explore new sectors for medium to long term business opportunities and growth. The present environment is also prompting industries to work together for providing services, capacity utilisation and volume manufacturing.
Government has announced a slew of stimulus and relief measures for MSME’s to improve liquidity and to meet cash flow requirements. Member companies are urged to explore and judiciously take advantage of them.
IMTMA through this e-newsletter is bringing updates on the various stimulus measures/packages announced by the central and state governments which are beneficial to the industry. The newsletter also gives an insight into the general news updates and the best practices adopted by Indian and overseas industries to combat this pandemic.. |
